Safety and Staff Training For Our Services
Your dog’s physical safety and emotional well-being are our top priorities at New Beginnings. We care how each dog feels about their experience with us. Our philosophy is to create a safe environment for dogs to play and exercise by matching the dogs up appropriately by size, play-style, temperament, and energy level.
We realize not every dog will like each other and dog fights and injury can be avoided with intensive training upon hire of a boarding and daycare staff team member and on-going staff training and education on canine body language and canine play behavior. Dog fights do not have to be part of the culture of an off-leash play facility and are not accepted as part our culture at New Beginnings. It doesn’t have to be that way. It is our job to match the dogs appropriately and we constantly work to keep them safe as our standard of care. We put forth all efforts for all our 4-legged guests to be safe, healthy, happy, and most of all to have fun! There are very high standards for our daycare and boarding staff working directly with the dogs to meet these needs.
Each daycare and boarding staff member start their training with 10 days of classroom instruction on overall canine behavior and canine play behavior. After completion of classroom work, these staff members are trained with the dogs in play groups by a behavior modification and canine play expert, one-on-one for several weeks. Staff members must show they understand each individual dog and play group and how to handle these play groups appropriately before being allowed to go solo with a group of dogs at play. We have a built in program of continuing education that is mandatory for all daycare and boarding staff. This gives you the highest quality of care and safety for your dog.
