Group Class Training – Step Two

STEP TWO

Now that you’ve worked on some basics and are beginning to develop communication with your dog – It’s time to take the next step!

In dog training, you can’t just skip to the end step of teaching a behavior. You have to build up from the foundation.

This course will include working on impulse control, the start of leash manners and begin improved response time. Low to mild distractions will also begin to be introduced.

Step Two Course Covers:

Progression of Calm Behavior

You help guide your dog to learn to calm themselves in many different situations.

Beginnings of Leash Manners

Walking on a leash politely without pulling.

Attention While Walking

Attention on you while walking and ignoring other dogs.

Anti-Jumping

Not jumping up on you or any anyone else is a big step towards a well-mannered companion.

Beginnings of Distractions

Working on focusing and maintaining attention and performing behaviors learned in Step One in busier situations (i.e. noise, traffic, other animals and people).

Down

Down can be beneficial in many situations, especially with very excitable dogs.
